The 39th Association is made up of veterans of the 39th Transport/Troop Carrier Squadron, U.S. Army Air Corp; the 39th Troop Carrier/Tactical Airlift Squadron, USAF; and past and present members of the 39th Airlift Squadron, USAF. Here you will find a history of the 39th, along with squadron unit decorations and news and activities of the association. Our annual reunions are always special, and our 2008 reunion in Tucson, hosted by Frank and Linda Morton, was no exception - it was a great gathering and great fun! You can view photos and highlights of the 2008 reunion in the Photos section. Information on our 2009 Reunion to be held in Seattle this September is included under Reunion News. You can also view a sample "Skipper" newsletter published for our members.
We want to keep you informed of upcoming reunions, share photos of past reunions, swap stories and have a place to visit to find out news of old and new friends. We hope you enjoy visiting our site, and if you have served in the 39th, please consider joining our association. Just contact us, and we will send you a membership application.
The official emblem of the 39th, a winged covered wagon, has been in use from October 27, 1942, to the present time. The 39th Airlift Squadron is using the same emblem today at Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene, Texas.
